Malaria
Malaria is a potentially fatal disease that is transmitted by mosquitoes. Thankfully there is a lot you can do to reduce the risk of contracting Malaria. Determining if you are at risk of malaria is a part of any consultation carried out at The Travel Clinic (Glasgow) with information being provided on how you can minimise mosquito bites and what medication is appropriate for you and your trip. There are many different tablets available for preventing Malaria and it is crucial that you take one that is effective for the area you are going to. Up to date advice should always be sought as it is possible that tablets that you might have previously taken are not advised for the area you are planning to visit. Although some tablets should be started in advance of your trip, if you have left getting your malaria tablets until the last minute the important thing is to still get advice so that you can commence anti-malarial tablets.

Cancellation Policy We ask that you provide 48 hours notice should you wish to cancel your appointment. A £25 cancellation/failure to attend fee will be levied if you do not attend your appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours notice. Credit or debit card details will be required at the time of booking your appointment. Should you cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours notice or fail to attend your appointment, the late cancellation/failure to attend fee of £25 will be processed to this card. These details are not used for any other reason and are destroyed after your appointment.
